Nanzen-ji Temple – Northern Higashiyama in Kyoto, Japan.
Loved this beautiful brick aqueduct at the Nanzen-ji temple in Kyoto. The aqueduct was a part of a canal system, and if you slip beyond the arches and all the way up the hill behind it, there is a tiny waterfall grotto. The cave has dozens of worn and old Buddha statues. Only one other tourist also ventured up the hill, and they disappeared quickly up the mountain on a longer hike, so I had the little piece of whispering forest all to myself.
